*** THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A DOUBLE-BOOKING. SORRY. ***
It’s September and you know what that means – Crisp fall air – Tens of thousands of doe-eyed students trawling the urban core in search of education, love, and life experience – and consumption of obtuse amounts of alcohol purchased with seemingly unlimited student loan cash.
Which brings us to the matter at hand. This Wednesday night at Tribeca. Sexy garage rockers The Baketones, barely containable rock forces of nature, the Johnny Dick Project, and the intrepid, classy and always affable rock and roll sensation known only as Speedy Recovery.
Three dollars. 9:30-12.

The fine folks over at Noisography just posted a review of the show we played on Friday night at the Seahorse with Johnny Dick Project, No Flyers Please, and Dress Code Casual. Check it out!
Excerpt:
The Baketones are loud, crazy, sexy fucks. You do not want your daughter to meet them, you do not want her to get into their van, you do not want her to bring one of them home. If she does, you better send her ass to a convent because if you don’t, she won’t be your little girl anymore; she’ll be a demon succubus craving only rock and roll and organ solos. When the Baketones took to the stage, the crowd at the bar was a little bit bigger than it had been for DCC, but still a touch thin. This did not stop the band from playing one of the better sets I’ve seen at the Seahorse. The vibe is pure party mixed with a little bit of generalized violence. Never in one set have I seen more interesting things done with a synthesizer; Dude played it like a keytar, took off one of the legs of the piano and played “slide organ” and, I swear to God, the guy did it with a beer in his hand. ALWAYS. This is not to say that everyone else in the band was invisible; the stage was full of energy, and the crowd that made it out a bit early absolutely loved it. If you get a chance to see these guys, do not pass it up.

We had a great time in Montreal during our last tour — we can’t wait to go back!
After months of searching, The Baketones would like to welcome their newest member, drummer Michael MacKay. Mike is super talented and the band is very excited to have 5 official members once again!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Myles Deck, who filled in on drums while we searched for a permanent player. Myles, your assistance was invaluable!

Dear Fans and Friends,
The Baketones are announcing that after hundreds of beers, thousands of smokes, a lot of gigs and countless good times Carlos Garduno (The Baketones’ drummer) has decided to move on to bigger and better things. We are sad to see him go, but fully support him in his decision. Carlos, we wish you the best and know that you are off to do great things. You will always be our brother.
With love,
The Baketones
