Baketones Music presents BCASA (MTL) and Chix N’ Dix (MTL) @ The Seahorse
Montreal punk rockers BCASA will be tearing through Halifax on Wednesday, June 9th, hot on the heels of the release of their debut album, “Fuck It Up Hard!”. They will be joined onstage at The Seahorse Tavern by fellow Montreal punks Chix N’ Dix and hometown garage rock hosts The Baketones.
“Fuck It Up Hard!” is available for free download from BCASA’s web site, http://www.thebcasa.com/.
“The BCASA represent a big part of the Montreal punk scene, but to every other city, they’re just another band with an unusual long name: The B*ll C*sby Anarchist Society of America (censored after receiving a cease and desist order from Bill Cosby’s lawyers).” – Verbicide Magazine
“Dinosaurs playing guitar are cool, but they’re even cooler when drawn in MS Paint. They reach a new level of awesome when they’re on the cover of The Bill Cosby Anarchist Society of America’s album. I don’t know much about this band, other than the fact that they’re from Canada and that Bill Cosby’s lawyers might get these guys in trouble because of their name. To circumvent this issue, the band is abbreviated as the BCASA. They write songs about breakfast burritos, SNES, what if the Beatles reformed in the year 2025, robots, and other things. The BCASA makes pretty cool DIY punk and even offer their album Fuck It Up Hard! for free on their website, http://thebcasa.com/ So go and download it, if you’re cool. The song below is entitled Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but if you’re not a Street Fighter fan they also have a Mortal Kombat track on the album. I don’t know anybody that listens to these guys, but you totally should because they fuck it up hard.” – Jamdek Daily

“The energy on the stage was unbelievable, especially for so early in the night, and Mr. Corrigan performed like a man possessed. During their last song, Rob began bashing his keyboard with his fists, sending keys and various bits of plastic flying in the air. Not content with merely disabling the keyboard, he flung it off the stage and it landed in the middle of the dance floor. Its impact sent plastic debris in all directions like a Fisher Price hand grenade. While the band pounded out the last sustained chords of the song one of the waiters approached Rob with what I thought was a broom, turns out it was a baseball bat. Rob used the bat to bash the ever-loving shit out what was left of his keyboard and then handed the bat off to audience members to finish the job. It was really, really badass.” – Noisography
